President Trump and his Attorney General Jeff Sessions have decided to rescind the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. This program provided hope and protection to nearly a million children of undocumented immigrants. Many of these children have grown up knowing no other nation besides the United States of America. In their hearts, in their minds, and in their lives they are Americans. Immigration is vital to our economy, our culture and our American identity. To obliterate the dreams of so many on the basis of a false understanding is not only wrong and unkind, but fundamentally un-American.

Defend the Dream, a student-led campaign, is rooted in the belief that DACA needs to be protected at all costs. We recognize that DACA recipients are vital members of American society; Dreamers contribute to our economy, our culture, and our communities. Our country was founded by Dreamers and they do not deserve to be pushed out. Based on this notion, the goal of our campaign is to inform all members of society that DACA is crucial to American society and mobilize a politically active group that is willing to relentlessly encourage their representatives to vote in favor of DACA, come March 2018.
